Stop toughing it out and get on the same team.
For 16 years I've helped couples move out of disconnection and reactivity, back to real closeness, honest talk, and trust that holds.
You care so much about each other, and yet…
You love each other. Lately, love hasn't been enough to stop the same painful cycle.
- You share a feeling or need and get defensiveness or silence back. It's exhausting.
- You feel lonely and unseen, walking on eggshells around anything that matters.
- Your best days are the ones you spend apart, and the closeness you used to have is gone.
- You've built a whole life together, so you have everything to lose if this doesn't turn around.
- You've tried couples therapy; "I" statements and naming the cycle only went so far.
- The one relationship that should feel safest has become a battlefield.
Insight without accountability doesn't create change.
This is where I work differently.
When we're in session, I'm in it with you. I guide, I challenge you to change your part in the pattern, and I teach you the skills that actually build a great relationship.
I'll slow you down, interrupt what isn't working, and coach you moment by moment. I care too much to let you keep hurting each other in the same predictable ways.
I can help you transform your relationship from a source of frequent frustration and pain into your greatest refuge in the stormy seas of life.
- Own your real impact. You see and change your effect on each other, beyond good intentions.
- Stay present when it's hard. You stay in it instead of defending or shutting down.
- Be truly heard. You learn to listen and speak so your partner can actually feel it.
- Repair fast. You recover in minutes instead of days of distance.
- Rebuild trust. Through kept agreements and behavior that actually changes.
That's what a marriage or partnership is meant to be.

Hi, I'm Jess.
I work with couples who are ready for more than surface-level change, who want to genuinely transform how they show up with each other.
My style is engaged, direct, compassionate, and very honest. I'll help you see the painful dynamic clearly, feel what's underneath it, and do something different right there in the session.
This is active, focused work, and it works. I've helped many couples reach a deep level of connection by becoming more present, more responsible, and more actively loving in how they relate.
Are you willing to be both deeply supported and challenged when it's needed? Do this work and experience one of life's greatest gifts: a relationship that is thriving, connected, safe, and joyful.

How long is a therapy session with you?
A session is 50 minutes.
Do you offer in-person sessions?
Yes. My office is on San Pablo Avenue on the Berkeley/Albany border.
Do you offer online sessions?
Yes. Telehealth sessions are available for all people residing in California. Many of my clients find that telehealth sessions are just as powerful and effective as in-person sessions.
How often do we meet?
I highly recommend meeting weekly for most clients, especially at the beginning of therapy. When you have made significant progress toward your goals, we can discuss meeting less frequently.
How long can I expect to be in treatment?
The answer truly varies widely depending on what your goals are for therapy. Typically, clients work with me for 6 to 18 months before "graduating."
